As part of their initiative to work more closely with Indigenous peoples, Keyera wanted a video to signify their commitment and values with respect for Indigenous culture and history. The “seeds of connection” motif was created by an Indigenous artist as the symbol of this initiative; each segment represents a different wildflower alongside an important value that speaks both the the Indigenous people’s way of life and Keyera’s desire to work alongside them.

We wanted to create a video that showcases this motif and builds out every part of the visuals each scene. The mountains are carved from the seed shape. The leaves of the trees are the seed as well, while the colours are derived closely from the finished motif, and of course the flowers are the primary visual element used to bring us through the different values.
